@david_chisnall what do you have for people who don't know how to write code beyond some simple formulae?
That's the missing bit (the 'and a simpler onboarding experience').
The thing is: There's basically nothing I do in Pandas that isn't a simple formula (modulo the totally incomprehensible Python syntax, especially with respect to array indexing).
A UI like Improv or Quantrix Modeller would give the same power, but without that learning curve of 'here's Python, it's a language designed by throwing syntax into a blender and hoping we get something usable out, and here's a nice library that you can use from it'.
@david_chisnall @dysfun @visidata may be interesting: e.g. typed columns which can be defined by a function on existing columns, instead of ad hoc formulae, sheets based on filters. It sounds, in some respects, similar to descriptions of Improv (I have never used Improv).
