The maker of Wordle has a new game, ParseWord. So far, I haven't been able to find a way to play it. The clue and hints are there, but I can't use the tutorials at all, and I can't seem to type any guesses. Is anyone else who uses a screen reader able to get anywhere with this? NVDA, Windows, Firefox. www.parseword.com
@alexhall I'm sighted and I don't use a screenreader. You don't type anything to play. Each game is a few words that you must transform into a target word. You do so by selecting one or many consecutive words, and choosing a transformation.
So you click on "sword" and a few synonyms pop up; you choose one and replace the word. Or click "war runs backwards" and replace it with "raw". I assume the website is unfriendly to screenreaders :(
@coder Knowing that I'm meant to click words actually helps a lot. I thought I was supposed to examine the original words, then work out the answer in my head and type it. I'll try the site again with this in mind.
@coder And nope, pressing space/enter on a word does nothing. Maybe the NY Times will buy this game, too, and make it more accessible. That's what they did with Wordle. But then again, they never made their other games all that accessible, so who knows. Thanks again for explaining how it should work.
