There must be more context to help make sense of this.
If I were going to make out-of-context endorsements of languages I don't use, maybe C#? Just because .NET seems better conceived than the JVM. Type erasure just bugs me. YMMV.
@dabeaz I still think the Class Loader is innovative useful and interesting. But not centralising using maven.
@dabeaz It is not. But when coding in Java, you're more likely to encounter "enterprise monstrosity" code. Myself, I *like* Java, but I've encountered so many Java codebases which are disgusting in that enterprise-y way.
(Is it that Java the language is more prone to that kind of code? *Maybe*, but I think it's more of an ecosystem dynamic than the language itself.)
@kentpitman The only context is that I've been writing some code in Java. The experience hasn't been that bad.
