@channelOwen I can't see the text about digesting pastries or seeing tree frogs warbling in branches, but I *have* met Danish tree frogs, and it's quite likely that at one of those times there were pastries in my belly. :-)
(I've met all five* species of native Danish reptile, and most of the amphibians.)
*) Arguably six. The European pond turtle has two tiny isolated populations here, and they used to be widespread until the Pre-Roman Iron Age, when they apparently went extinct due to the cooling climate. We don't know if those two populations are long-lost remnant populations that survived and went unnoticed since back then, or descendants of someone's released or escaped pets. They're not considered invasive either way, - unlike the introduced American terrapins who can wreak absolute havoc on pond life.
