How much time do you spend reading books/ebooks per week?
@leah where’s the option for ‘I have ADHD and lose track of time when doing something like that so I have no idea’
@leah I read much less than I used to, so I've been mulling having a book on me at all times to read on public transport and that kind of thing instead of using the Internet.
My main issue is that stuff I'd like to read is not pocketable and that sourcing books for electronic paper devices legally sounds troublesome.
Perhaps I should just focus first on reading public domain books first.
@leah Hell, I even read academic papers like once a week or so, but actual books? Just feels inefficient and pointless most of the time
@leah Honestly I can work around ads and paywalls just fine, but having to find a good copy of a book and then focusing on what I got is somehow too hard for me... it's way less friendly of a format for my ADHD
and yeah, a lot of times they feel too verbose and distracted, without adding any actual depth or personality, just to say "hey, I'm #cultured and #prolific, look at me!"
I still got a couple hundreds of archived books, I just can't get to finish any of them
@xerz I have good access to books due to many libraries here, but I also read many eBooks, it's just very convenient (and works better at night).
