If that’s not it maybe someone trusted can send a short message with your contact info in your behalf citing technical issues?

@love Hwoo tell me about it, I don't even know what's even going on with Linkedin but I'm glad that aside from these people I'm trying to get hold of I'm not going to be even touching it, unless I find some more old retro software authors and I need to get hold of someone, and even then let's just hope that some awesome chap will give a hand in the matter.

The problem is that the message link lets you write a message, but like you said it's not telling that woops, you can't message this person unless you have premium until you actually write the dam thing and then as it's an overlay you also can just get stuck while doing small things like finding a person in the compose message box.

@GoemonIshikawa @yo It was a long time ago ~2000-07. I met some really cool people and learned a lot that has helped me to become a more thoughtful developer.
Maybe they shouldn't have laid me off because I'm seeing all kinds of problems from their products that heads would have rolled for in my era, lol.

I got into LinkedIn around 0 10 0 12 or so, and it was actually a really good site to use, granted that it was for a teacher who could only be reached via that as that's all she used, but it was good.
You know that's the thing of layoffs. The good people are always fired the fastest and the so called survivers, well there under the bed deals means that they get to keep walking in a workplace and take money that there peers should have gotten for a job that they didn't do.
@GoemonIshikawa @yo they laid me off on maternity leave after I invented them an edge caching patent.
We got pushed onto all the products, not just ours (I was on facebook in 2007 to make the module). A friend said they were pushed to use github (for their own projects too) and locked out of their work when laid off.
I onboarded as a candidate to a ycombinator ai hiring thing (ineptly) using LI (and apparently me for free testing).
It’s BAD.

@GoemonIshikawa @yo Anyone staying (I won’t, I started blocking people there this week for dumb saas pitches) should think of it as a dataset used to validate their resume. Keep it simple and clear.
“Over 20 years” treated as dishonest if it was 30. Unable to tie me to companies in other countries I CTO for. Unable to believe I’m not a yoga instructor realtor.

Lots of AI slop and lots of smarmy SaaS pitches for vibe-coded slop.
I don’t know anyone hired off a posting there in a decade. My last job came from Indeed. Companies post jobs they will never fill to look like they are growing to investors.
It’s a waste of our time to get our data and feels like weird unemployment social media.
20 year old endorsements be damned. I’ve convinced myself. An OCID links me to my work just fine. 🙃
